Arlene Overman

Private Singing, Fundamental Technique for Singers

Arlene has been teaching piano, voice and music theory to all ages for over 25 years and is so pleased to join the faculty and students at CCPA. After accompanying many vocalists throughout her undergraduate degrees (BMus from U of S and TWU in piano performance), Arlene noticed that singers seem to have a lot of fun, and went on to study voice at the University of Western Washington, where she earned her Master’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy.

Arlene brings a warm voice, personality and acclaimed listening skills to her teaching studio where she loves helping students understand their potential, find freedom in their voice and embrace new ways of thinking about life that transforms their singing. Her students have gone on to win multiple roles and awards throughout the province.

She has enjoyed performing with and conducting a variety of ensembles around Victoria, but her favourite musical endeavours of late have centered around raising three very musical children and performing original Overman a cappella Christmas carols with her husband and family.
