Adrienne Smook

Voice & Speech

Adrienne holds an MA in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (UK), and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Alberta. Locally, Adrienne was the dialect/accent coach for a number of productions at the Belfry Theatre, CCPA, and other local theatres. Elsewhere, Adrienne was the movement and voice coach for Sage Theatre’s award-winning production of Hedwig and The Angry Inch. Adrienne provided vocal show support for Besame Mucho at The Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, Possessed at RADA MA Theatre Lab, Purgatorio with Central’s MA Contemporary Actors, and the UK Summer Tour of Sports Play with Just a Must Productions. As part of her MA, Adrienne filled voice teaching placements with the MA Classical and Contemporary Actors at Central, and with the MA and BA Actors at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Selected acting credits include The 39 Steps and Wait Until Dark(Vertigo Theatre), The Penelopiad, Shakespeare’s Dog and Amadeus (Alberta Theatre Projects), Enchanted April (Theatre Calgary) and The Girl in the Goldfish Bowl and Scorched (Sage Theatre). Adrienne is the Head of Arts and teaches theatre at Glenlyon Norfolk School.
