“A black comedy teetering on the edge of something tragic.” -12thnight.ca
A gang of six break into a mansion looking to loot themselves out of a drug debt. Governor General’s Award-winning playwright Colleen Murphy has crafted a black comedy full of youthful vigour that pushes resentment, violence, and class to an unavoidable emotional extreme. I Hope My Heart Burns First will take you to the edge of your seat, praying we all miss the head-on collision.
Content Advisory Extremely coarse language, loud noises, discussions of suicide, and depictions of violence, sexuality, and addiction.
I Hope My Heart Burns First is approximately two hours and fifteen minutes in length, with a ten minute intermission.
I Hope My Heart Burns First is produced by arrangement with Kensington Literary Representation, 34 St. Andrew Street, Toronto, ON, M5T 1K6, kensingtonlit@rogers.com.
